Avicii Won’t Be Playing In Dubai

Swedish DJ Avicii has cancelled his upcoming concert in Dubai after undergoing surgery. He needs time to recover so he decided to postpone his scheduled gig.

‘The Wake Me Up’ hit maker had an operation to remove his gallbladder and appendix on March 29-30th.

He was not feeling well on March 24th, so he went to the hospital where he remains to recover after surgery. The star; real name Tim Burgling, had to cancel his planned set at Dubai’s Atlantis The Palm hotel, scheduled for Friday, April 4th.

“Due to the superstar DJ’s health issue, [email protected] featuring Avicii has to be cancelled.”

“We wish Avicii a speedy recovery and look forward to bringing him to the [email protected] stage in the very near future.”

The DJ updated fans on his condition on Monday night (30Mar14), tweeting, “Still in hospital! At least I’m (sic) finally catching up to season 2 of House of cards,” read the statement from the concert’s organizers.

However, the star insists he will be well enough to go to his planned tour scheduled for April 10th.

He managed to tweet to his fans, “My fans know that I have had issues in the past with my stomach and pancreatitis. I woke up on Wednesday morning with serious pain but I flew to Miami anyway, hoping that it would go away.”

“The pain was still there when I landed so I went straight to hospital. I was treated and left later that night.”

“Unfortunately, the pain came back and I returned to the hospital where they admitted me to stay overnight.”
