Boots’ Charity Single Features Beyoncé

Producer and singer Boots has recruited his friend, pop icon Beyoncé, to sing on a new charity song.

The single unexpectedly went on sale on Tuesday, April 22.

Boots served as a co-writer and co-producer on Beyoncé’s surprise record earlier in 2014.

Boots now revealed the final track on his winter Spring Summer Fall album features the singer star. The song is titled Dreams.

He shared the song on his page, and also stated the profits from iTunes sales will all go to Day One, a charity which is trying to put an end to teen dating violence.

Boots, real name Jordy Asher, told Vogue how much he appreciates Beyoncé’s work and friendship.

He said, “I love that the song has me and what I’m doing in my realm and her and what she’s doing in hers, and it’s so completely opposite but they work incredibly together.”

With his contributions to Beyoncé’s self-titled fifth studio album, released in December 2013, Boots came onto the music scene almost unknown.

Upon the release, he updated his Facebook page, stating he had been “working on [Beyoncé] for most of the past year,” and that he had “produced 85% of [the album] and [had] four original songs on the album.”

Boots had done additional production, background vocals and instruments to the album’s first R&B/hip hop single, “Drunk in Love”, featuring Jay-Z, her husband.

Beyoncé later referenced his work on the album by saying he is “a new producer that [she] completely respect[s]”, that “he is an innovator”, and that she is “so proud to work with him”.
