27th Annual Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony - Show

If you really want to feel old, this news will do it for you. Green Day is going to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Bands and artists become eligible for the Hall 25 years after their first single or album is released. Yes, Green Day have been around that long.

Singer and leader Billy Joe Armstrong said that it’s a very special honor for the band, since all of their heroes reside in the Hall.

“This is a great time for us to sort of reflect and look back with gratitude”

Among the other inductees this year will be The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and Loud Reed.

Reed, who died of complications after an unsuccessful liver transplant this year, was already inducted into the Hall of Fame with his group Velvet Underground, but will be enshrined as an individual as well.

Starr is the fourth Beatle who will be enshrined as an individual into the Hall.
