Jay Z Defends His New Baby Tidal On Twitter



From the very start, the whole Tidal thing reeked so desperately of a bunch of ridiculously rich and bored pop stars who wanted to play revolution. It was then announced at the now infamous press conference that was so ludicrous and silly that it wasn’t even funny. The level of smugness and self-congratulation truly reached epic – we’re talking Gilgamesh/Homer –  heights at the event.

You’d think they’d found a cure for cancer. At the very least.

Now, as people are finding some truly gaping holes in the whole idea (from the business and figures standpoint; read – serious), things are becoming less lame and more perilous for the investors and the head celeb face of it all – Jay Z.

It now reached the point where the famous rapper found it necessary to take to Twitter in order to defend Tidal with tweets like:

“Tidal is doing just fine. We have over 770,000 subs. We have been in business less than one month”


“The iTunes Store wasn’t built in a day. It took Spotify 9 years to be successful”

He also tweeted:

“We are here for the long haul. Please give us a chance to grow & get better.”

Is it just us or do these Tweets make Tidal seem like it’s in an even worse position than it is?
