Pete Doherty has said that he would like Jack White to produce the new album from the Libertines.

The band plans to release a third album in 2015 and will play new material on their upcoming UK and European tour in September.

Speaking at Benicàssim Festival in Spain, the Libertines confirmed they would play new songs at their London Alexandra Palace shows on September 26, 27 and 28.

The band’s first two albums were produced by Mick Jones of The Clash, but nothing has been said about the third album’s producer up till now.

During an interview on French TV station D8, Doherty said that White wants to work with the Libertines.

“Jack White says he’d like to do it.  I’d love him to do it, it would be amazing, but I don’t want to get too hopeful”
